Spiral Water Showcases High Solids Filtration and Concentration Technology at WEFTEC Innovation Pavilion
Spiral Water Technologies, a developer of advanced filtration solutions for difficult-to- treat waters, will showcase its award-winning high solids filtration and concentration technology at WEFTEC® 2016, booth 3129i, in the Innovation Pavilion. The world’s largest water quality exhibition, WEFTEC – the Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference – takes place September 24-28 at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Spiral Water earned the invitation-only spot in the Innovation Pavilion by winning the Innovation Award at this year’s BlueTech Forum. This award recognizes the disruptive technology deemed most likely to transform the water industry of the future. Spiral Water also won the Tech Idol Award at the 2015 Global Water Awards in Athens, marking a breakout 12 months for the company. The core of Spiral Water’s technology platform is its patented Automatic Self Cleaning Filter, which can be used as a pre-filter, primary filter or for reclamation from existing filter backwash or centrifuge underflow. It offers several distinct advantages including: Macro filtration of suspended solids – 25,000 mg/l total suspended solids (TSS) Self-cleaning, one-pass process with no backwash or cross-flow Continuous 10 to 100 micron filtration 99% water recovery Solids concentration – unique purge technology for waste collection and product recovery In addition, this breakthrough technology can filter up to 100 times dirtier water than traditional automatic filters while using only 10% of the energy required by other systems and at a fraction of the footprint and weight, resulting in lower CapEX and OpEX. Because the system allows one-pass low micron filtration, requiring no backwash or crossflow, high and variable solids are automatically concentrated and purged in the same process. This innovation allows Spiral Water to offer industrial waste management and product recovery solutions that go beyond traditional water filtration. Customers in such sectors as Food and Beverage are using Spiral Water’s one-pass filtration to efficiently recover product that had previously gone to waste. Spiral Water is also demonstrating how the introduction of its Automatic Self-cleaning Filter can reduce the need for expensive centrifuges and high CapEx thickeners. Spiral Water filters are available as standalone units or in multi-filter skids. The company is working directly with clients and partners to create industry and process-specific solutions. “We’re honored to have our technology recognized by some of the world’s leading water quality experts,” said Spiral Water CEO Ashwin Gulati. “More importantly, we’re already seeing how having the same device as both a filter and solids concentrator delivers significant CapEx and OpEx benefits. By working with partners who can help scale and target specific niches in the industrial process, we plan to expand the advantages of Spiral Water systems.” For more information about Spiral Water products and case studies, please contact Spiral Water at email@example.com About Spiral Water Technologies Spiral Water Technologies (www.spiralwater.com) specializes in advanced filtration solutions for difficult-to- treat waters.
